Steve Wider, 69, passedinto eternal lifeon June 3, 2021 at Jersey Shore Medical Center with family at his side. Born in Jersey City in 1952, Steve moved to Clifton at the age of 6. He attended Catholic Grammar and High School, graduating in the top of hisclassfrom Pope Pious XII High School in 1970.From 1974 until 1988 he worked as a Network Engineer. In1990he relocatedtothe Jersey Shore. He lived in Long Branch and Pt. Pleasant, finally settling in Asbury Parkin 1996. Steve loved Asbury Park, andhad a passion forhelping those in need.In July of 2000, he incorporated Back Home Again whose mission was to eradicate homelessness in the Asbury Park Area. He helped many poor and homeless people endure and improve their lives and place to live.Steve loved music.He playedtheguitar and wrote songs, hisbiggest accomplishmentbeing Ghost Town-Asbury Nights.He was along timeBeatleand Star Trek fan.He enjoyed the beach, skiing and getting together with friends and family.Steve was pre-deceased by his parents, Anton Wider and Claire (Cross) Wider. He is survived by his sister, CathyWider-Stensgaard, brother Paul Wider and his wife Dawn, his nephew Tommy, AuntsRosaleenWebb and Hilda Cross, Uncle Michael Crossand many cousins. A Celebration of Steve's Life will be held on Sunday, October 31 from 2:00 until 5PM at Ocean Grove Memorial Home,118 Main Ave, Ocean Grove.
