Rita A. Weston passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 21, 2015 at Applewood Care Center, Freehold, NJ. She was 97 years old. Rita was born in Bayonne, NJ on April 19, 1917. She also lived in New York City, Seaford, Long Island and Florida for almost 40 years before moving to Freehold in 2007. Rita was a registered nurse working last for the Massapequa school system in Long Island, NY. Rita was a 1935 graduate of Holy Family Academy, Bayonne, and received her nursing degree from the Bayonne Hospital School of Nursing and her BSN from New York University. While working at the Knickerbocker Hospital in New York City she met her beloved husband John Weston. Rita was a devoted wife and cousin, an avid golfer and bowler and loved to play cards.

Rita is predeceased by her husband John Weston who passed way in 1998, as well as by her parents John and Nora Donlon-Gill, her devoted aunt and uncle, Ann and John McNelis, and cousins Francis X. McNelis and Bernadette Harz. Surviving are three cousins Eileen McNelis, Avon; Ann Brandon, East Windsor; and Mary Boyle, Bradley Beach along with many of Rita and John's nieces and nephews. She will be missed by all. A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2015. The family will be accepting visitors beginning at 10:00 a.m. at Ascension Church 501 Brinley Avenue Bradley Beach, followed by a memorial mass of Christian burial beginning at 10:30 a.m.
