Philomena Ford, 82, formerly of Bradley Beach, died Thursday January 28, 2021. Phil was a long time communicant of the Church of the Ascension of the Parish of St. Theresa of Calcutta in Bradley Beach. Born in Warrenpoint, County Down, Northern Ireland, she came to the United States in 1966 to Boston as a nurse following her medical training in Liverpool, England. She relocated to Bradley Beach where she lived for 50 years. Phil worked as a nurse at the Medi Center in Neptune City before retiring. She was predeceased by her husband Harold J. Ford in 2017. Surviving are her sons, James and his wife Adrienne of Abingdon, PA, and Richard and his wife Marishyl of Decatur, GA, and her four grandchildren Seamus, Elizabeth, Evelyn and Beckett. Relatives and friends may call on Sunday February 7 from 2:00 - 5:00 PM at the Church of the Ascension 501 Brinley Avenue, Bradley Beach. A mass of Christian burial will be offered on Monday at 11:00 AM at the Church. Interment will follow at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown.
