Mary A. Johnson, 65, of Long Branch, earned her angel wings on Saturday, Oct. 17, 2015. She was surrounded by her loving family at the time of her passing. Mary was predeceased by her husband, William E. Johnson Sr.; her parents, Oscar and Ella Tillman and her brother, John Tillman. She is survived by her 5 children, Tanya Johnson, Tatia Johnson, William E. Johnson Jr., Sonya Johnson, and Nurjahan Johnson. Also surviving is her sister, Carrie Tillman and her brothers, Nathaniel Tillman, James Tillman and Ndegwa Mwanza. She has 13 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren who lovingly referred to her as Gran or Nanny. Mary was a beloved mother and grandmother. She was genuinely caring and loved being surrounded by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mary was adored and loved by all who knew her. Her courage and strength was inspiring. Mary will be missed but never forgotten. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24, 2015 at the McLaughlin Pentecostal Faith Church, 148 CP Williams Place, Long Branch. The service will be led by Pastor Caroline Bennett.
