Mary Patricia Fenzel, 74, of Bradley Beach, NJ passed away Friday June 11, 2021 at the Jersey Shore University Medical Center with loved ones by her side. She courageouslybattled breast cancer on and off for 12 years.Mary, or often called Patty, was born May 31, 1947 in Baltimore, MD. She was the daughter of the late Mary Katherine Farrell Fenzel and William Bryan Fenzel. Patty graduated from All Saints Elementary School and Seton High School in Baltimore. After High School, Patty attended Baltimore Junior College and started her career with the Bureau of Immigration where she worked for 16 years. In 1988 Patty moved full time to Bradley Beach and worked for the United States District Court in Newark, NJ until her retirement. In her work for the court, she closely assisted many Federal Judges and worked on a number of important Federal cases.Patty always valued and cherished her family and friends. She is survived by her brother William Farrell Fenzel, niece Amy Fenzel-Mergott (Dan), nephews Damian Fenzel (Amy), Patrick Fenzel (Jenn), and Nicholas Fenzel (Olya). She is also survived by ten great-grand nieces and nephews, whom she adored. Mary, Luke, Sophia, Victoria, Sasha, Zoe, Josephine, Max, Fox, and Archer. Patty was the keeper of family knowledge and never missed a birthday. In addition, Patty had close relationships with her cousins and many friends.During her time in Baltimore, Patty acquired a life-long love for the Baltimore Orioles and rarely missed watching a game. She enjoyed traveling with her friends to out of the way places,Including several trips to Europe. Patty loved a good Irish coffee, tag sales and looking for treasures in thrift shops. She was an animal lover, particularly her cats Alex and Ajax. Patty was a member of St. Teresa of Calcutta Catholic Church in Bradley Beach. She volunteered her time at the church as well as Manor by the Sea nursing home in Ocean Grove. She always donated funds to many charities as well as clothing and household goods to Vietnam Veterans organizations. A memorial mass will offered on Wednesday June 23 at 10:00 AM at the Church of the Ascension of St. Teresa of Calcutta Parish, 501 Brinley Avenue Bradley Beach.
