MABEL L. WERNER, 94, of OCEAN GROVE died Wednesday, November 21, 2007 at the Manor by the Sea, Ocean Grove. Born in Newark, she had lived in Nutley and had summered in Ocean Grove until 1975 before moving here permanently in 1989. She had resided in the Francis Asbury Manor for the past 10 years. Mrs. Werner was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Ocean Grove; had volunteered for The Salvation Army and was an avid bridge player. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Albert H. Werner, in 1996, by her parents, William and Lillie LaRue, by her sister, Lillian M. LaRue, and by her brother-in-law, Edward R. Werner. Surviving are her sister-in-law, Lois M. Werner, her nieces, Heidi Santin and Patricia Noxon, and her nephews, David and Richard Werner. A funeral service was held on Saturday, November 24th at 10:00 AM at the Ocean Grove Memorial Home, 118 Main Avenue, Ocean Grove. Interment followed at Fairmount Cemetery, Newark. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Salvation Army, 510 Grand Avenue, Asbury Park, NJ 07712.
