JOSEPH CICALESE, Joe Chick, 82, of BRADLEY BEACH and Key Largo, Florida, passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends on Saturday June 19, 2010. Joe was born in Newark on February 29, 1928, and was raised in Kearny. Mr. Cicalese served with the United States Navy and was a detective with the Newark Police Department for 28 years, before retiring. He is survived by his loved ones, including his sister, Marion Cicalese Efantis, his nieces, Dr. JoNell Enfantis Potter and Mrs. Donna Vick and numerous family and friends including Theresa LaMotta, Margaret Scully and Charles Catrino. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday at 9:00 AM at the Roman Catholic Church of the Ascension, 501 Brinley Avenue, Bradley Beach with entombment following at St. Catharine's Cemetery, Wall Township. Relatives and friends may call at the Ocean Grove Memorial Home, 118 Main Avenue, Ocean Grove on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions to Church of the Ascension would be appreciated.
