Joan Engle Knust, 88, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 14 2022 at the Jersey Shore University Medical Center, surrounded by her family. She was born in East Orange, New Jersey and spent her summers at the Jersey Shore. After marrying her husband, Ronald B. Knust, they moved to Connecticut where she taught school and raised a family. The pull of the Jersey Shore was too strong and she eventually moved back to Ocean Grove in 1991. Joan was extremely active in her local community including the Ocean Grove Camp Meeting Association's Ladies Auxiliary, the Ocean Grove Beautification Committee, St. James Episcopal Church and PEO Sisterhood. Joan is survived by her children Kim, Andrew and his wife Janet, her three beloved grandchildren Wyatt, Amelia and Aubrey, and her dear sister Nancy. Friends are invited to join a memorial service at St. James Episcopal Church in Bradley Beach on Saturday, December 17 at 3 PM. In lieu of flowers, a contribution to OGCMA Beautification Committee, 54 Pittman Ave, Ocean Grove, NJ 07756 would be appreciated.
