Joan Buckley, 83, of Ocean Grove, died Wednesday September 24, 2014 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. Mrs. Buckley was a Teacher Assistant for the Montessori Learning Center in Maywood, NJ before retiring. She was a communicant of the Church of the Ascension in Bradley Beach and volunteer at the Jersey Shore Performing Arts Center in Ocean Grove. Born in Paterson, NJ, she lived in the Bronx, then in Maywood before moving to Ocean Grove in 1985. Surviving are her husband, Kennedy E. Buckley, her son, Kennedy M. Buckley and his wife Amy of Mountainside, her daughter Karen Devcich and her husband Steve of Riverwoods, IL, her brother Robert Skinner of Midland, GA and three grandchildren, Steven Ryan Devcich, Christin Mary Devcich and Alexa Katherine Buckley. Relatives and friends may call Friday from 4:00 - 7:00 PM at the Ocean Grove Memorial Home, 118 Main Avenue, Ocean Grove. A Mass of Christian burial will be offered on Saturday at 9:00 AM at the Church of the Ascension, 501 Brinley Avenue, Bradley Beach, with burial following at St. Raymond's Cemetery, Bronx, NY. In lieu of flowers, contributions to a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
