Janice E. Flay, 81, of Ocean Grove, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at home on June 6, 2021. Born and raised in Philadelphia, PA, she spent the majority of her life residing in Ocean Grove. She worked for June Dairy in Bradley Beach before becoming a certified nurse's aide where she went on to work for Ocean Grove Nursing Home, Francis Asbury Manor, and Manor-by-the Sea before retiring in 2016 after 39 years of service. She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Ocean Grove, and had a strong faith in God and belief in her journey ahead. She was a member of the Women's club and Edna Bradley Circle. She enjoyed the simplicity of sitting on her porch and reading a book, going to the beach, doing crafts, watching all her DVDs, and most of all loved the time spent with her family. She was predeceased by her parents, Benjamin and Ursula Sharkey, by her husband, Donald, and by her daughter, Marcia Christine. Surviving are her children Gail-Marie Flay and her husband Robert Bazzini of West Chester, PA; Robert Flay of Matawan, Carol Flay, Ocean Grove, Cheryl Armstrong of Lanoka Harbor, Lynda Chadwick and her husband Mark of Neptune, her grandchildren, Lexi, Julia, Jocelyn, Christine, Jordan, Taylor, Robbie, Connor and Jake and great grandchildren, Jayden, Devynn, and Cameron. She was an amazing mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed! Relatives and friends may call on Thursday June 10, 2021 from 4;00 PM until 7:00 PM with a funeral service beginning at 6:30 PM at the Ocean Grove Memorial Home 118 Main Avenue, Ocean Grove.
