Joughin
Harry M. Joughin, 90, of Ocean Grove, died Friday December 2 at home. Hewas a floorlayer carpenter for Carpenters Resilient Flooring, Union, NJ before retiring in 1987. Mr. Joughin was a Veteran of the United States Army, serving during World War II. He was one of only 5 survivors of the Battle of Bill Bill Hill. He was a member of the Ocean #89 Masonic Lodge, the Corson Commandery, the Goodwin Chapter and the Knight York Cross of Honor. He was a former chief and a 60 year member of the Eagle Hook and Ladder Company of the Ocean Grove Fire Department. He was predeceased by his wife Gladys DeCosta Joughin in 1992, by his son, Harry M. Joughin, Jr. in 1987 and by his grand daughter Sherry Lynn Crouse in 1977. Surviving are his son, Maurice Joughin and his wife Alice of Brick Township, his daughters, Anna Mils and her husband Keith of Wall Township and Lillian Joughin of New Hampshire, 7 grandchildren and 13 great grand children and one great great grandchild. Relatives and friends may call on Sunday December 4 from 4:00 PM with funeral services beginning at 7:00 PM at the Ocean Grove Memorial Home, 118 Main Avenue, Ocean Grove. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Eagle Hook and Ladder Fire Company, 128 Main Avenue, Ocean Grove, NJ 07756 would be appreciated.
