Obituary

Evelyn E. Palmer, 94, of Ocean Grove, died Wednesday February 3 at Francis Asbury Manor, Ocean Grove. Evelyn was born in London, England where she survived the Blitz. She came to the United States in 1945, living in Fanwood, NJ, Ridgley, MD, Watchung, NJ and Manahawkin before moving to Ocean Grove in 1998. Mrs. Palmer was a former member of the Long Beach Island Woman's Club, the Manahawkin United Methodist Church, the Ballard United Methodist Church and previously sang with the Island Singers. She was predeceased by her first husband Charles Turner in 1984 and by her second husband Clyde Palmer in 1995 Surviving are her daughters, Janet Lynne Charlton of Hackettstown, Gail Lee Koberlein and her husband John of Martinsville, VA and Charlene Joy Christopher and her husband George of Stewartsville, her sister, Kath Turnbull of London, England, 4 Grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. A funeral service will be held on Saturday February 13 at 11:00 AM at the Ocean Grove Memorial Home, 118 Main Avenue, Ocean Grove, with interment following at the Masonic Cemetery, Barnegat. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the United Methodist Homes Fellowship Fund, c/o Francis Asbury Manor, 70 Stockton Ave., Ocean Grove, NJ would be appreciated.
