ELEANOR CLARKE EVANS GORDON, 98, of Raphine, Va., formerly of OCEAN GROVE, died Monday, Nov. 7, at the Blue Ridge Christian Home. Mrs. Gordon was born on May 5, 1907 in Philadelphia and was a daughter of the late Elisha Evans and Josephine Stroup Evans. Mrs. Gordon graduated from the Philadelphia Conservatory of Music and from the Philadelphia General Hospital as a registered nurse. She was predeceased by a son, Andrew Gordon. Mrs. Gordon is survived by her husband, the Rev. Andrew Culver Gordon; a son, the Rev. Robert Gordon of Lexington, Va; a daughter, Margaret Mongin of Roxbury, Conn.; nine grandchildren, Stephen, Craig, Philip, Joel, Joshua, Sarah, Margaret, Andrew and Thomas; and seven great grandchildren. Friends were invited to call at the funeral home on Friday from 11 to 1. The funeral ceremony was held at 1:00 p.m. at the Ocean Grove Memorial Home, 118 Main Ave., Ocean Grove. The Rev. Geoffrey Wilour officiated. Interment was Saturday in Westminster Cemetery, Bala Cynwyd, Pa.
