Eleanor Anna Anne Edelson passed away on November 20, 2021, at the age of 82 in Neptune. She was born on November 19, 1939 in Camden to Thomas H. Eagen and Eleanor M. Eagen (formerly Godshall). She graduated from Glassboro State College in 1961, and spent many years inspiring high school students and teaching English.On December 19, 1964, she married Robert David Edelson, and together they raised two sons, Lawrence of Fairfield, VT and Christopher of Maplewood, NJ.Eleanor generously volunteered her time to organizations such as the League of Women Voters and was actively involved in the First United Church of Oakhurst. Shewas predeceased by her husband Robert, byher parents, and her sister Laura (Dusty) Eagen of Dallas, TX.In addition to her two sons, Eleanor is survived by her three grandchildren, Mila Edelson, Eli Edelson, and Avery Edelson, and by her brother Thomas Eagen of Durham, NC.Eleanor was laid to rest at Monmouth Memorial Park in Tinton Falls, NJ, and a memorial service will be held in the spring.Donations may be made in her memory to the American Heart Association or the First United Methodist Church of Oakhurst, NJ.
