Edward G. Ogden, 80, of Ocean Grove died Thursday, August 25 at Manor by the Sea, Ocean Grove. Mr. Ogden was a Naval Officer, with 25 years of service. He enlisted in the Navy in 1949, graduated from the United States Naval Academy, Annapolis, MD in 1955 and graduated from MIT in 1961 with degrees in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering. He was a member of Tau Beta Pi and SNAME. Mr. Ogden was a professional engineer in New York, New Jersey and Texas. Born in Morristown, NJ he lived in Basking Ridge and all over the world during his Naval service before moving to Ocean Grove over 30 years ago. Surviving are his wife, Joan Welte Ogden, his children, Elizabeth and Edward, Jr., and his grandchildren, Aiko Walson and Zachary Ogden. Inurnment services will be Tuesday August 30 at the United States Naval Academy Cemetery, Annapolis, MD.
