Edna Hall Townsend Foley, 95, of Ocean Grove, died Sunday, May 8, 2011, at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune, after a short illness. Mrs. Foley had worked for the federal government before retiring. She had been a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, St., Paul's United Methodist Church, Ocean Grove, the Girl Scout Council of Bergen County and a 75 year member of the Ocean Grove Auditorium Choir. Born in Paterson, she lived in Wood-Ridge, and Ridgewood, NJ, Hobe Sound, Fla., Ocean Grove and most recently at the Medi Center in Neptune City. She was predeceased by her first husband, Jack Townsend, in 1965; and her second husband, Frank Foley, in 2010. Surviving are her daughters, Nancy Townsend of Ocean Grove, and Janet Iannelli of Ridgewood and Ocean Grove; four grandchildren, Janet Comer Gleason of Middleton, Mass., Edward Comer of Newton, N.H., Douglas Iannelli of Atlanta, Ga., and Darleen Iannelli of Cedar Park, TX; and three great-grandchildren, Mackenzie and Madison Gleason and Victoria Hutchings. A graveside service was held at Monmouth Memorial Park, Tinton Falls. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Ocean Grove Camp Meeting Association, 54 Pitman Ave., Ocean Grove, NJ 07756, would be appreciated.
