Doris J. Feane, 89, of Eatontown, died Sunday, May 22, 2011, at Care One at King James, Atlantic Highlands. She had worked as a supervisor of general supply for Ft. Monmouth until retiring in 1973. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, volunteered as a special police officer in Eatontown and was a great animal lover. Mrs. Feane was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving as a Navy Wave and repairing airplane engines during World War II. Born in Asbury Park, she was a lifelong resident of the shore area. She was predeceased by her husband, James Feane in 1970 and by her brother, Robert B. Jensen in 2004. Surviving are her niece, Sandra E. Jensen and her life partner Jeannette D. Sarik of Bridgewater, NJ, her nephew Glenn R. Jensen and his wife Vicki of Netcong, NJ and her sister-in-law, Silva Jensen of Sarasota, FL. Friends may call on Thursday, May 26 from 2-4 and 7-9 with a funeral service with Pastor Ken Akselsen at 7:30 PM at the Ocean Grove Memorial Home, 118 Main Avenue, Ocean Grove, followed by an Eastern Star service at 8:00. A funeral procession will leave the funeral home on Friday at 11 AM for interment at 12:00 noon at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown.
