Bridget Meer passed away peacefully on October 27, 2023 at the age of 87. Born in Riverside, NJ, Bridget moved to the Syracuse area at the age of 13. Bridget served as a nun with the Franciscan order for 18 years. Thereafter, she earned a Bachelor's from SUNY Oswego and a Master's from Syracuse University. Bridget dedicated her life to educating young people, teaching for over three decades in parochial schools and the Syracuse City School District. Bridget found joy in caring for her beloved Golden Retrievers, traveling, visiting with family and friends, and warm winters in Florida. In retirement, Bridget volunteered with the Syracuse City Schools and at Crouse hospital. Bridget was predeceased by her parents Mark and Mary Meer and her sisters Mary Ann Bell (Clifford), Patricia Leadem (Richard) and her dearest friend Fr. John McGraw. She is survived by her dearest friend Dolora Kurtz, several life long friends, as well as nieces and nephews.A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday Nov. 18th at 10:00 am at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception 259 E. Onondaga Street.Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Bridget can be made to Catholic Charities of Ononadaga County, NY
