Ann Jeanette Sapienza was born and raised in Jersey City, New Jersey, the second daughter of Anna (Tyra) and Stanley Kuras. Ann lived most of her life in Shark River Hills, New Jersey, where she moved soon after marrying and having her two children in 1971. She graduated from Dickinson High School in Jersey City in 1964. She received a BA from Rutgers University in 1968 and an Associate's Degree in Applied Science from Brookdale Community College in 1978. Inspired by her mother, she became a nurse and spent her career at Jersey Shore Medical Center, becoming a Head Nurse. She then went on to work at severallaw firms as a legal nurse analyst in pharmaceutical and products liability areas, including since 2001 at Arnold Porter Kaye Scholer LLP, and was looking forward to retirement at the time of her death. She enjoyed the theater and dining out, was an avid reader and spent many hours with home improvements and gardening. Ann also enjoyed vacationing when she could where it was warm and sunny, from Belize to Hawaii. She was generous with her family and friends, and was an expert shopper and fantastic and ambitious cook, making Christmas, Easter, Thanksgiving and birthdays plentiful occasions, especially for her two granddaughters. But it was not just food and gifts. Ann was always there for her friends and family with advice about life and living, and jokes to make life's absurdities more bearable. She is survived by her sons, Michael and Matthew and his wife, Melissa, her granddaughters, Isabel and Abigail, her sister Jean, brothers John, Andy, Mark, Chris and Stanley, and many nieces and nephews.Visitation will be Friday, March 25, 2022 from4 to 8 PM at the Ocean Grove Memorial Home 118 Main Avenue in Ocean Grove. A memorial funeral mass will be offered on Saturday April 2, 2022 at 10:30 AM at St. Rose of Lima Roman Catholic Church, 603 7th Avenue, Belmar.
