ALBERT E. CATLEY, 83, of OCEAN GROVE, died Saturday, February 19, 2005, at the Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. He had worked as a mail carrier for the United States Postal Service serving the Ocean Grove Post Office for more than 30 years until retiring in 1987. Mr. Catley was a member of the Washington Company of the Ocean Grove Fire Department for more than 65 years and currently served Ocean Grove as a fire commissioner, and a member of the Fireman's Relief Board. He was a U. S. Army veteran of WW II. Born in Wilkes Barre, Penn., he was a lifelong resident of Ocean Grove. He was predeceased by his brother Robert Catley in 2004. Surviving are his wife, the former Ruth A. Dellett Catley, a daughter, Pamela I. Moreski and her husband Chet of Ocean Grove, a sister, Doris Gilbert of Florida, six grandchildren and spouses Pam Rottkamp and her husband Jim, Paul Gaffney and his wife Brenda, Melissa Moreski, Cord Moreski, Andrew Moreski, Brandon Moreski, and four great grandchildren Caila, Corey, Sadie and Julia. A funeral ceremony was held at the Ocean Grove Memorial Home, 118 Main Avenue, Ocean Grove on Wednesday morn., February 23rd at 10:00, with interment following at Monmouth Memorial Park, Tinton Falls. Friends were invited to call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9. A Firemen's Service was held Tuesday evening at 8:00. In lieu of flowers, a contribution to the Washington Fire Company, 48 Olin Street, Ocean Grove, N. J. 07756 would be appreciated.
