Carmela “Millie” Armenti nee Ricci, 97 of Stirling, died Monday February 1, at home. Carmela was born May 11, 1918 in Newark to Pietro and Rosa Ricci. She worked for Charms Candy, Fiber Plastics and also worked as a seamstress. Millie was a homemaker, a loving mother and grandmother. She will always be remembered for being gracious, loving, patient and kind. Carmela was a true angel. Her last words of advice were to be happy. She was predeceased by her husband George Armenti, Sr. in 1984, by her brother Rocco Ricci and by her parents. Surviving is her sister Mary Dragotta of Toms River, two sisters in-law, Martha Armenti and Lucille Armenti, her son George Armenti Jr., and his wife Phyllis, her daughters, Sharon Armenti Cerchiaro, Rosemary Armenti, five grandchildren George Armenti III, Carolyn Armenti Saragusa and her husband Thomas, Colette Armenti, Joseph Thomas Cerchiaro III and his wife Courtney and Nicolas Armenti Cerchiaro, seven great grandchildren Clea Jane, Daniel Joseph, Calla Ann, Chiana Rose, Gabriella, Thomas, Jr., Jessica and Brandi and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins. Relatives and friends may call on Thursday February 4 from 3:00 – 8:00 PM at the Valley Memorial Funeral Home, 1012 Valley Road, Gillette. A mass of Christian burial will be offered on Friday at 11:00 AM at St. Vincent de Paul Roman Catholic Church, 249 Bebout Avenue, Stirling with interment following at St. Vincent de Paul Cemetery, Chestnut Street, Stirling.
